New Investment Location Ranked Number One USA Rental Market By Forbes
I have just landed from another trip to the USA, visiting our new investment locations. The first of these is Atlanta, Georgia, launching in the next couple of weeks. Why Atlanta? There are a number of reasons.
High yields, strong growth, low purchase prices

Firstly, you can buy new (sometimes never lived in!) and beautifully-refurbished, performing property assets for around 50% of the build cost. Secondly, you can expect 10% - 12% net yields per year, coupled with growth of a projected 100% - 300% in three to five years and 300% to 500% in five to eight years.
Those of you familiar with our Florida investments will see from these figures that Atlanta is very much like Florida in its Maximum Growth strategy, coupled with good rental income as your investment property grows in value.
Leading migration location where 90% of residents rent
There are other similarities too. Atlanta also attracts the baby boomer generation. This is mainly due to a comfortable all year round weather climate, excellent hospitals and healthcare services.
Atlanta residents also enjoy a low cost of living (94% of the national average) and Atlanta is the sixth best US state for total individual tax burden.
There are over 420,000 people living in Atlanta, with a population of 6 million in the greater metro area, with1.6 million people migrating to the area between 2000 and 2010. 90% of Atlanta residents rent.
Fastest-growing metro market for business
Atlanta is also incredibly strong for business and economy. Its gross metro product is a massive $270 billion USD – making up two thirds of Georgia’s entire economy. Playing home to the fourth largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, Atlanta is recognised as one of the fastest growing metro markets in the States. In fact, it was THE number one fastest growing market between 2000 and 2008.
Atlanta also ranks as:
- Number one USA rental market (Forbes)
- Fourth best place in the USA to invest (CNN Money)
- Top five for all job growth in the USA (Moody's)
Mark Vitner, senior economist at Wells Fargo, explains: “The southeast is the fourth largest economy in the world and Atlanta is the hub of economic activity in the southeast.”
Next steps
Such accolades certainly piqued my interest! We have now completed our due diligence on the key points which make Atlanta a number one investment location and will be launching our Atlanta investment guide and the first of our Atlanta properties very soon. Watch this space!
