5 Ways to make money in your head before making it real

making money in your head

This might seem an odd thing to say for a property developer and maybe an odd concept for most people, but making money has to occur in the mind. Lets face it we are all in this business to make money, yeah it's great to give money back to charity and to do good things, however to do that you first need the money.

I didn't start out having confidence in making money from property when I first started, it was only when I changed my mindset did I really start to make it and have confidence in myself. When I used to sit down and believe that I was making money from property in Brazil, I knew someday I would be doing it, I honestly don't know why I knew I just had the confidence.

How to change your mindset

There were a few lessons I had to learn along the way to having the mindset to make money from property or to make money at all. I have no doubt some of you reading this are saying I will never be able to make enough money to give up my day job' or words to that effect. That's the conversation of a defeated person and this is when a lot of people would give up. The number one lesson I have learned is never give up, keep going, if you fall, keep going. Seems obvious but you would be surprised how many people give up when they are on the verge of succeeding.

5 Tips for changing your money mindset

  1. Know where you're going before you start: Do you get up in the morning without knowing what you are going to be doing for the day? Yes it might be work but you know what you have to do, you have that image in your head of what needs to be done for the day and you get it done. Know where you want to go in life and you will have a much better chance of getting there. You wouldn't go on a journey without using your Sat Nav to tell you where you're going , so it is with life.
  2. If you've got a dream, dream it often: how many people have you heard saying Oh, I'd love to make more money' they then tell you what they would do with that money, and then the conversation is over. Yes it's nice to talk about having more money but make sure you think about it often. This way your mind gets into gear and starts telling you ways to do it, you might dismiss the thoughts at first , but the more you think about it the more you convince yourself it is possible and you WILL find ways to make it happen.
  3. Don't just say it, just do it: When your mind is convinced you are serious about making money and has rewarded you with a few ideas and thrown a few people in your path to make it happen it's time to take action. Small actions lead to big rewards, if you're still a little hesitant start small. The small actions snowball into huge actions and then you're set.
  4. Meet with like minded people: My success has not been down to me alone. My success has been down to talking with people who shared the same vision as me; to make money from property. I was hesitant at first but when I spoke to people about it and they were interested in what I had to say I soon found out I had strengths they didn't and vice versa. Again it started snowballing when I started trusting other people to help me.
  5. Give back to help others: Give to receive and you will receive nothing, give to help and you will gain everything. Enough said.

Conclusion

It might sound airy fairy stuff but making money really does start in the mind. The five steps above have helped me immeasurably in my life and I know if you can grasp them they can help you to make money and to help others as well.
